Introduction of Invited Speakers:

 

Speaker : Prof. Tianrui Li

 

Dr Tianrui Li is a Professor and the Director of the Key Lab of Cloud Computing and Intelligent Technique of Sichuan Province, Southwest Jiaotong University, China. Since 2000, he has co-edited 8 books, 12 special issues of international journals, received 25 Chinese invention patents and published over 420 research papers (e.g., AI, IEEE TPAMI, IEEE TKDE, IEEE TEC, IEEE TFS, IEEE TIFS, IEEE ASLP, IEEE TIE, IEEE TC, IEEE TVT) in refereed journals and conferences (e.g., ACL, ICDE, IJCAI, KDD, UbiComp, WWW, ICDM, CIKM, EMNLP). 5 papers were ESI Hot Papers and 18 papers was ESI Highly Cited Papers. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Human-Centric Intelligent Systems, area editor of International Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, editors of Information Fusion and WIREs Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, Associate Editor of ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology, etc. He is an IRSS Fellow and Steering Committee Chair (2023-2024), IEEE CIS Emergent Technologies Technical Committee (ETTC) member (2019-2020), IEEE CIS Senior Members Committee member (2018-2020), a senior member of ACM and IEEE, ACM SIGKDD member, Chair of IEEE CIS Chengdu Chapter (2013-2018) and Treasurer (2016-2021) and Secretary (2022-) of ACM SIGKDD China Chapter.

 

 

Speaker: Prof. Hongzhi Yin

 

Prof. Hongzhi Yin works as an ARC Future Fellow, associate professor, and director of the Responsible Big Data Intelligence Lab (RBDI) at The University of Queensland, Australia. He has made notable contributions to predictive analytics, recommendation systems, graph learning, social media analytics, and decentralized and edge intelligence. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his research achievements. He has been named to IEEE Computer Society’s AI’s 10 to Watch 2022 (only four recipients from Australia in the past two decades) and Field Leader of Data Mining & Analysis in The Australian's Research 2020 magazine. In addition, he has received the prestigious Australian Research Council Future Fellowship 2021, the Discovery Early Career Researcher Award 2016, 2022 Best Rising Stars of Science in the World, AI 2000 Most Influential Scholar Honorable Mention in Data Mining (2023 and 2022; the only recipient from Australia). He was featured among World's Top 2% Scientists Lists (Career Impact) published by Stanford University (2022 and 2021) and Best Computer Science Scientists 2023. He has published 240+ papers with H-index of 58, including 140+ CCF A and 70+ CCF B, 140+ CORE A* and 70+ CORE A, such as KDD, SIGIR, WWW, WSDM, SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, AAAI, IJCAI, ACM Multimedia, ECCV, IEEE TKDE, TNNL, VLDB Journal, and ACM TOIS. He has been the leading author (first/co-first author or corresponding author) for 180+ of them. His research has won 8 international and national Best Paper Awards, including Best Paper Award - Honorable Mention at WSDM 2023, Best Paper Award at ICDE 2019, Best Student Paper Award at DASFAA 2020, Best Paper Award Nomination at ICDM 2018, ACM Computing Reviews' 21 Annual Best of Computing Notable Books and Articles, Best Paper Award at ADC 2018 and 2016, and Peking University Distinguished Ph.D. Dissertation Award 2014. His research has also been attracting wide media coverage, such as The Australian, Edge Impulse, SBS Radio Interviews, UQ News, Faculty News of EAIT, ACM Computing Reviews.

 


Speaker: Prof. Herwig Unger

 

Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Dr. h.c. Herwig Unger (*1966) received his PhD with a work on Petri Net transformation in 1994 from the Technical University of Ilmenau and his doctorate (habilitation) with a work on a fully decentralised web operating systems from the University of Rostock in 2000. Since 2006, he is a full professor at the FernUniversität in Hagen and the head of the Department of Communication Networks. In 2019, he obtained a honorary PhD in Information Technology from the King Mongkut's University of Technology in North Bangkok (Thailand).

His research interests are in decentralised systems and self-organization, natural language processing, Big Data as well as large scale simulations. He has published more than 150 publications in refereed journals and conferences, published or edited more than 30 books and gave over 35 invited talks and lectures in 12 countries. Beside various industrial cooperation, e.g. with Airbus Industries, he has been a guest researcher/professor at the ICSI Berkeley, University of Leipzig, Universitè de Montreal (Canada), Universidad de Guadalajara (Mexico) and the King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok.
